THE MONTH.

A good, exciting start to 2018, enhanced (?) by getting a dose of this flu bug at the very start of January. I can't say it had too much effect, I spent half a day in bed shivering, but I didn't feel I had really shaken the whole thing off until a few days ago. People kept telling me to dose myself up, obviously without understanding my view of a minor illness, as I consider flu to be. I have an immune system and, like all other parts of my body, it is there to do a job. The more I use it, the stronger it becomes so, as normal, I didn't take anything at all to fight off the flu bug.

Work-wise, things have progressed smoothly. I successfully wrote, filmed, participated in, edited and uploaded 2 new videos to my learning site and, early days though it is, the response has been good, very good. I, of course, am not completely happy as they were not perfect but I think I am getting better at realising you cannot achieve perfection all the time, even any of the time probably (I only put this sentence in to see if it convinced me of this fact – it didn't).

Another of my traits is to go with my initial feelings on things and so I have made a very quick decision concerning another matter. I believe I am right, nay I know I am right, but we will just have to wait and see if I am. That may not make too much sense,

Finally, and on a more personal level, I was able to watch, albeit at a distance of 13,000 miles, my second son, who now lives in New Zealand, get married to his beautiful fiancée. It was a lovely wedding and one of the new Mrs Rowland's aunts sang the song “The Rose”. Those of you who have followed this site intently will know that it is a firm favourite of mine. Check here

This month should be another one of hard work but, yet again, a different type of work. Variety is the spice of life, so mother said, and I now have to agree with her. You cannot have too much of it: variety that is, the return of 5 spices doesn't fill me with the same excitement.
