I love music, I need it in my life. That's how I started the introduction to my first 30 songs some four years ago. It's till true today and there have been quite a few times in those four years when I've needed to listen to some songs when life got too stressed.

Again I suppose this latest list of songs is once again for my kids to know more about me when, as I said and using the words of old Bill Shakespeare, I shuffle off this mortal coil.

The last four years have seen some wonderful times, two visits from my son and his beautiful wife who live in New Zealand and much time spent with my two children who live locally and with my grandchildren. Each and every one has given me some worry, some apprehension, some problems to help them solve but, ultimately, the most amazing amount of laughter and enjoyment.

Again, in that origial introduction I said that if I had done it some years earlier it would have been different and, possibly, if I do it again in a few years time, it will be different again. That was nearly as dumb as my mother's favourite saying that "it will be in the last place you" if something went missing. I was almost in my dotage before I realised how daft that was.

Similarly this list will be different because I'm not going to include any of the original 30 nor any of the others I added from specific artists and my quirky selection.

I am still, as I said back then, very happy with my life and I think even more as I have grown older the lyrics have become even more important and perhaps more reflective.
