LIKE RAIN SEES RAIN and I'VE SEEN THE LIGHT

It's another two for one today. I couldn't decide which song by Diane Solomon I wanted to upload. I like them both and they both give me the chance to try to interpret what the writer is saying. By the way, I have been unable to identify said writer as yet.

I listened to them both in my collection and still couldn't decide so I took a look on YouTube and, lo and behold, there was this video which had both songs on the same clip. I decided to use them both.

The first one is called "Like rain sees rain in the ocean", at least that's the first line. Maybe it has a different title which would be why I can't find the writer. To me it implies that likes attract, something I have always believed in. Sadly sometimes people will become like you in order to be attractive to you. It doesn't last.

It also brings out the many problems in life like wanting to be free but someone needs you and searching for yourself and your reflection doesn't please you, which I find a particularly clever line and that finding that one right person who you cannot leave because they are you, your soul mate, you and they become one.

The second song is called, maybe, "I've seen the light". It would, to me, be a story of the trials of life which will happen again and again. It also contrasts how some people never question, never ask why, and never see the light before they die. Trying to experience things, trying to find out things, taking risks, is never easy but how sad it would be to end your life without at least trying to see more than your front room and experience more than your town. I too have seen the light, sung my song and I will again and sometimes it hurt.
