ONE MOMENT IN TIME

Continuing the sporting theme from the last song, I simply love the words of this song written for the 1988 Olympics in Seoul, South Korea by Albert Hammond. You don't have to apply the words to sports people and it could be true for any of us. We should all have dreams and, hopefully, achieve some of them but, if we don't, then keep believeing that the best is yet to come. Even at my age, I do. Never give up and always take pride in what you have achieved.

Sadly, Andy Warhol’s comment that “in the future everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes”, has become increasingly true. Complete non-entities are made into celebrities and, while looking for people to work with a few years back, I came across a large number who didn’t want to achieve, to produce or, as I wanted from them, to present; they wanted to be known, to be famous. Wouldn’t it be nice, as the song says, to be more than you thought you could be for a long time rather than on the front page of the Sun or appearing on Bid TV briefly.

Please do listen to the words and relate them to your life. I found this live version of Whitney Houston performing the song. Note my choice of words, she doesn’t just sing, she performs it, she lives it. All of it. Watch her hands. That is a great artist. A winner for a lifetime, and beyond. But we can all try to be that, if only for those 15 minutes.
