I love music, I need it in my life. Some four years ago I was asked to list my favourite songs and, as this website is partly intended for my kids
to know more about me after I have left this mortal coil, I thought I would encumber them with this too.
I have to say that the list is made as of now. Well, I started uploading these 30 songs in early October 2016, so now may not be exactly the correct word.
The point I am trying to make is that if I had done it some years earlier it would have been different and, possibly, if I do it again in a few years time,
it may be different again. In other words, my taste in music will change depending on how I feel. I should point out that this selection is almost certainly
the happiest I would ever make. I am very happy with my life as of now and I think that may be reflected in my choices.
The ones I have chosen will always have been influenced more by the lyrics than the music. That's not to say I don't like instrumental music but, as those who
know me well will testify, I am not a dancer: music doesn't make me want to move. I like to listen to the words and, of course, how much better they can be if
the melody, the tune, enhances those words.
I am quite sure that if you listen to the songs you will be introduced to some new artists, especially if you and I come from different generations.
I don't need you to like any of my choices; the world would be a strange place if we all liked the same thing. But I do hope you will take the time to listen
and, at least, try to see why these songs appeal to me.
Oh, and I apologise in advance for 3 of the songs. My only excuse is that mother liked it.
